Psychologist, life coach, author, speaker, wife, and mom, Dr. Jennifer Degler is passionate about helping people create healthy, successful relationships. As a lifelong Kentuckian and UK graduate, she bleeds blue for the Big Blue Nation. You won’t find her in a coffee shop (she thinks coffee tastes like dirt), but you are likely to find her kayaking and hiking with her high school sweetheart husband, Jeff, as they enjoy their newly empty nest. Her fabulous and funny adult children, Josie and Jake, delight in telling their friends that their mom runs a sex shop when, in reality, she founded CWIVES, a ministry to help Christian wives make their sex lives sizzle. Sex shop, ministry–sounds just the same to us too.
Professional Biography
Jennifer Degler, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist, life coach, speaker, and author. After graduating from Transylvania University with degrees in Psychology and Business Administration, Jennifer received her Master’s and Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kentucky. She counsels adults and couples at the Interfaith Counseling Center in Lexington, KY. As a life coach, she coaches clients across the world to create lives they love.
Because of her extensive performing arts background, Dr. Jennifer feels at home on any stage and enjoys public speaking and teaching. She has led marriage retreats and spoken at women’s conferences across the USA, including MOMCon, Iron Sharpens Iron for Women, and Hearts at Home conferences. She has been interviewed as a relationship expert by Women’s Day.com, CBN.com, and other media outlets, and was a regular guest on Moody Radio’s Midday Connection.
Her books include No More Christian Nice Girl: When Just Being Nice—Instead of Good—Hurts You, Your Family, and Your Friends (Bethany House, 2010, co-authored with Paul Coughlin), and the Deck of Dares: 40 Dares to Make Your Marriage Sizzle.

At her church, Jennifer teaches a women’s Sunday School class and has been involved with the drama and youth ministries. She and her husband, Jeff, have two wonderful adult children, Josie and Jake, and are enjoying life as empty-nesters.
Jennifer brings much training and many life experiences to the table as a counselor, life coach, and speaker, but none more important that her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Statement of Faith
I believe that Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6)
I believe that “salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to man by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 )
I believe “if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8)
I believe “if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”(1 John 1:9)
I believe that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” and can fully redeem and powerfully use even those who consider they have been “the worst.” (1 Timothy 1:15)
I believe God “is patient, not wanting any to perish but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
I believe that all scripture is “God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
I believe that every believer in Christ is the “temple of the Holy Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 6:19)
I believe we have been “baptized by one Spirit into one body” (1Corinthians 12:13) and recognize the value and equality of all members of the body of Christ. We are “all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:29) I actively support the unity of all believers eclipsing all denominational, economic, or ethnic diversities.
I believe we have “different kinds of gifts but the same Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:4)
I believe that “our citizenship is in heaven and we eagerly await a Savior from there the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so they will be like His glorious body.” (Philippians 3:21) “And so shall we forever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:17)
Until then, I believe we are to strive to “live holy and Godly lives as we look forward to the day of God.”(2 Peter 3:11,12)
